Hey, sorry for posting up so late

( FINA, ASK YOU POST ALSO NEVERRR!)

Migraine (severe headache) : Bring casulaty indoors, fan her, ask her to close her eyes to rest and apply oilment if necessary.
Cuts and grazes: wear glove on one hand before handling gauze. Wash the wound with antiseptic solution first. Remember to placed a gauze below the wound to stop the antiseptic solution to drip all over the place. then use that same gauze to pat the wound. take another new gauze, squeeze antiseptic cream on top, then using a cotton bud, apply cream on wound. for the rest of the cream left on the gauze, use other side of cotton bud to spread evenly then put on wound and tape the 4 corners.
Asthma: Ask her to use her inhaler if she has one, if not, ask a teacher to handle.
Fainting: Bring casualty to a side, ask her to side down and close her eyes, head facing down. after a while, ask her to open her eyes and ask if she sees any white spots.
Vomiting: Bring her to one side to vomit then ask her to rest.
Cramps: ask her to sit down then go General Office to get hot water bag.
Sprain ankle: Apply deep heat cream. put on hand, rub like mad until super hot then cup sprained ankle. then use roller bandage tie figure of 8 knot.
hyperventilation: ask casualty to cup her mouth and nose. then breathe 10 times. without cupping for other 15 seconds.

Okay! hope you get what i wrote.

For camp people, you all can see camp is next week and camp pack list just came out.

So we are in a bit of rush.
We need to buy poncho, whistle, ziploc bags, maggi mee, can food, etc.
So it is either we go out on sat or sun to buy.
One representative from each group to go.
The person going will be paying for the stuff the group needs. (Oh before that we need see which sec2s already have ponchos.) This representative will have to record the amount they spent and divide the cost among the group members.
So, leaders and assistant leader please discuss and tag on the tagbox who is going and whether sat is better or sun is better. (By Friday.)

Dear Cadets,

This email concern ALL sec ones and sec twos who have not pass Outdoor Activity Bronze.

The Outdoor Activity extra lessons on Tuesday/Wednesday/Friday have all been cancelled. Sorry for the late notice. In exchange for it, we would be having longer Outdoor Activity lessons on Monday and Thursday.

For Monday:

Sec 1s, bring your outdoor cooking items and your bamboo poles, nylon ropes and cotton twine. Your lunch would be your outdoor cooking. We do not want any excuses of you not bringing any items.

Sec twos, join the sec ones for OA lessons once evacuation accreds end. We would be going through the bronze syllabus (practical part) at that time. Bring along your Bamboo Poles, Nylon Ropes and Cotton twine.

For Thursday,

SEC ONES AND TWOS: Bring your outdoor cooking items, bamboo poles, nylon ropes and cotton twine.

There would also be a MOCK BRONZE THEORY PAPER TEST on Thursday. Sec 1s and Sec 2s please study and come prepared for it.

Me and Adeline Ma'am would be making a mini quiz along with slides on Bronze Theory stuff. We would be uploading it before Wednesday. If you have any queries on Bronze Theory, you can also ask us on Monday itself.

There would be also be Outdoor Cooking on Thursday for the Sec Twos and those Sec ones who did not come on Monday.

SEC 2s!!

WELL DONE ON THE PREVIOUS LESSON!(: we manage to do CPR with everyone except keng leng! but keng leng, it is ok! we will give you one on one tutor~ and we will make sure you know how to do it as well!(:
YAY! sec 2s, we are very happy and proud of you guys! you really did perform well during the lesson! most of you who cant blow precviously CAN blow now^^ (when you blow, pls remember to really pull the head of little anne behind, if not air will not enter.. also rmb to pinch the nose entirely, cover little anne's mouth with your own fully!! and give bigger breathe of air!) and you guys did compression really well too! just that you guys always tend to forget to look at little anne's BEAUTIFUL FACE and LOG YOUR ARMS AS WELL(just like FD!) sec 2s, please go and remember your entire CPR procedure! MUST memorise it!! we will test you on that! also, not to forget the list of things you should do during CPR! take note of it! and NOT MAKE IT DURING THE TEST!!

AND YOUR BANDAGINGS ARE GENERALLY WELL DONE AS WELL! however, do brush up on your scalp bandage and jaw bandage!! this 2 bandaging methods are important!! not only it helps in future firedrill but also in SFA! during our time, we were tested on this 4 bandagings: ARM SLING (with board bandage), ELEVATION SLING (with board bandage), JAW BANDAGE AND SCALP BANDAGE! we are not sure what is going to test this time round. it might be the same or it might not. so pls go practice every single bandaging method, make sure that you are 101% sure of the method!
as for your theory, you guys also did well on the open ended quizzes we gave^^ GOOD(: we are very happy at the rate you are processing at!!(: im sure that at this rate, you guys will be able to pass SFA with no sweat!(: so dont worry so much about it sec 2s! just give it your best shot! you can do it! we are sure of that!
even though you guys have done well the previous lesson, we are still going to give you guys extra lesson before your SFA during the september holidays! you guys would most probably be coming back to school on monday and tuesday. we will comfirm with you all another time. so if you already know which day you are coming back to school, do inform us as well. especially if it falls on the 10th/11th of sep!

Sec 2s, im going to stress on the importance of you theory again. during SFA, you WILL take the theory paper FIRST! and your theory paper determines everything. cause if you fail your theory paper, you would not be able to go on to do CPR and bandagings. which means all the effort you have put in for CPR AND BANDAGINGS IS GONE. (but you will be given 2 chances for to take the theory paper. if you fail the 1st time, you get to try another time. but if you fail the 2nd time on as well.. then you wont be able to continue to take SFA alrd..) so! REALLY GO READ UP YOUR FA MANUALS!! I HOPE YOU GUYS REALISE THE IMPORTANCE OF IT!

as for your fa quiz, hand them up after the common test on friday! and after common test when cca resume, we are going to teach you guys CPR. please be prepare for it. i have attached the CPR procedure so you get to choose AS A SQUAD whether you all want to copy it down or print it out. i want to see everyone have a copy of it the 1st fa lesson we have after common test. also, please go look through and try to remember it. we will show you how to do it when cca resume after common test.

as for the 1st open ended quiz we gave you for chapter 1-7 all of you did well! A GOOD JOB WELL DONE! we are very happy to see improvements in you!:D i hope when you all are doing the test, you guys didnt cheat and copy from your fa manuals! we trust that you wont do that! so KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK! if you continue to keep up this standard, passing SFA theory wont be a problem! anyway, please be reminded that for SFA, only when you PASS theory, you will proceed on to take your CPR and BANDAGING. so theory is very impt!! but you will be give 2 chances! if you fail the 1st time, you will be given another time to take it again. but if you have fail the 2nd test as well, then you wont be able to continue taking SFA alrd. so SEC 2S! do realise how impt your theory is and that's why we are giving you quizzes on it! so please dont forget what you have memorise ok! also! if you have completely/half forgotten how to do the bandagings, please go look through the bandaging methods we have send you and as well as the notes we gave you! so sec 2s! Hello Sec 2s,

We would like everyone to meet us on FRIDAY MORNING 6.45am AT THE MINI FORUM. We will be returning you your FA quizzes you guys did, and we would arrange a time with you guys to go through the test and clear your doubts. Your FA quizzes was quite badly done.

First, did you guys bother to even standadise the way you write your answers? Or at least put your name down on the quiz?

Second, only 14 of you pass up the test. WHERE'S THE OTHER 4 OF YOUR SQUADMATES TEST PAPERS? Did you even bother to find from your squadmates the reasons for not handing up and tell us? Even if you don't know the reasons, did you guys bother to ask for a time extension for your squadmates? We want the rest who didn't pass up to give us the test by WEDNESDAY MORNING, BEFORE 7am TO EITHER KAIXIN (at 3G1) / KATTY (at 3C3) MA'AM. I'm not going to say who are the 4. You guys should know it yourself. If you don't pass it to us by wednesday, we will not give you guys anymore quizzes anymore. If you don't even bother to put in the effort, ignore the test, THEN what's the point of us to keep on giving quizzes and you guys don't even do it? WE WANT TO SEE THAT EVERYONE IN THE SQUAD TO PASS SFA, AND NOT JUST A COUPLE OF PEOPLE. I'm sure you would feel good when you have pass SFA right? Just treat SFA like normal exams you guys have! If you have time to study for your class test and exams, then why cant you study your FA manuals, practice your bandagings? We are not asking you to read your FA manuals every single minute but just to read them for 30 mins again and again everyday. You can read it while you are going home or when you have nothing else to do. Is it that hard to do so?

Third, did you guys really revise on your FA manuals before even trying out the test? Did you know that out of so 14 of you that handed up, ONLY 4 PASS? (pass as in scoring above 75%) if you are going to produce this kind of standard HOW ARE YOU GOING TO PASS SFA? are you even worried about it? Just because there is'nt any red cross activity does it means that you can rejoice and forget about everything? We are seriously WORRIED that you guys won't be able to finish learning everything and take SFA during September! September is like ONLY 2 MONTHS AWAY FROM NOW! Do you know that you still haven't learn the CPR procedure? Truthfully, do you guys still remember how to tie ALL YOUR BANDAGINGS? Did you guys make the effort to practice how to tie them? to read up on your FA manuals? ARE YOU WORRIED ABOUT IT AT ALL?

Sec 2s, we don't want to keep on scolding you guys about not producing good standards to us.BUT ask youself truthfully, are you really putting in the effort? Just think about it. if your squadmates are able to hand up the quiz, why cant you do the same? If your squadmates are able to pass the quiz, why can't the rest of you do it? if your squadmates are able to put in the effort then why can't you do it as well? if you have put in the effort but didnt score well, then you could put in double the effort then!
We are very SURE that all of you could do it. Just a matter of WHETHER YOU WANT TO DO IT OR DONT WANT TO DO IT. choose it yourself. Only you can change the results of your test. Knowing that you have the power to change the end results, are you are going to fail your SFA or CHANGE and work hard for the better? The choice is up to you, not us. We cant stay by your side 24/7 to scold and demand you to study your FA manuals and practice your bandaging. We really hope this gets into you, We hope that everyone could work hard for SFA. Choose your own path wisely. We would love to help everyone to pass your SFA. SO SEC 2S! it's time to pull up your socks! let's work hard together for your SFA. remember, you are not only the one who is working towards the goal for passing your SFA, everyone is here with you, be it your squadmates or your FA i/cs.

Due to the H1N1 flu virus, we have already missed one week of activity. There MAY not be activity next week as well.
We hope that you all have been constantly doing your FA revison since you know that SFA is in about a months' time. We are rushing for time to complete the syllabus, and thus, we hope you all can do self-study for theory. (this is because we may not have enough time to have more theory lessons.)
To help all of you, we'll be uploading quizzes for you all to try out! we have already attached is a revision quiz for you guys. please read your ENTIRE fa munual before attempting the quiz because we have taken very important questions from the various chapters of your manual. everyone MUST attempt the quiz and try not to refer to manual when doing it.
This'll benefit you & you'll then be well-prepared for SFA! we want EVERYONE to attempt it and please hand up ur answers to us.
you can either hand it up to katty ma'am at 3C3 or kai xin ma'am at 3G1 before 7am on next coming tuesday 7/7/09. (for those who did not hand up the quiz, we want a reason for it.)
When activity resumes, we'll be doing CPR which'll be the last component, then you all will take your SFA.
PLEASE GO AND MEMORISE YOUR CPR PROCEDURE AS WE WILL ALSO TEST YOU ON THAT THE NEXT FIRST AID LESSON WE HAVE.

These are from siying ma'am so ya, must read first!

Give specific points, not long paragraphs of information for us to read. and yes, we want to know about alot of wars, as many as possible. but the main point is that we want a CONCLUSION on what are the effects of wars on relationships!! be it social or love relationship (it can be friends, families, marriages or couple relationships).

And do include many many pictures!! thats really important, make the pictures BIG. and since yall are doing individual jobs, when the information is compiled, i do not want to see any repeated points at all. and make sure everything i said above is applied to your document.

Current Affairs Competition‏

Dear cadets, the annual Current Affairs Competition is coming up this July. The competition is on 18 July; so we're about 3 weeks away from the competition. For this competition, we need to research on 4 given topics. We need to research on the topics thoroughly and have a clear, detailed understanding of each topic in order to ace this competition.
The competition comprises of:
1. Poster
2. Gameshow (quiz)
3. 1 minute of fame

Topics to research on:
Sec 1s- Climate Change and increasing temerature disaster
Sec 2s - Effects of War on Relationships

As you can see, for the gameshow, we would require to have a very clear understanding of each topic. NCOs would be participating in the competiton, but when we win, the glory all goes to the unit! In every competition, it would be most meaningful if each and every cadet contributes and put in our best effort to bring glory to the unit! (: I'm sure if we are willing to give our all, CRCU would be able to win, yes? :D So i really hope both squads can produce really thorough research on the given topics. 3 weeks isn't alot of time, so we really need everyone's cooperation and 100%.

Examples of questions that may be posted during the gameshow:
Which year was the Sichuan earthquake?
How much did SRCY donate to the Sichuan Monetary Fund?

They are stragithforward and direct questions, yet in order to answer them correctly, we need to know our facts well.

You all can hand in the information in either soft or hard copy, as long as the information provided is clear and concise, easy for understanding. Send the information to me by Thursday 7am. If you all are handing in any hard copy materials, pass it to me also by Thursday 7am in 3G2 Classroom. We will not give any extensions and we want the information to be up to standard. Remember, you are doing this for the benefit of the unit! So within each squad, you all have to work as one! Take this task as a challenge. Jiayou!!! Always keep in mind that all that you are doing now is still for the glory of every crcu member, and our goal in mind is to attain a trophy at the end of the competition. (:

Dear all,

There will be silver modular workshops and mass accreditations coming up very soon.
The workshop is for you to learn the whole silver syllabus there, then the following week you will return to campsite for your accreditations.
So do not worry if you have not learnt the silver syllabus yet, you can learn it there!

Below are the dates for the different workshops and accreds:

Evacuation and Outdoor Activity SilverWorkshop: 25th July
Accreds: 1st August
Venue: Red Cross Campsite
Time: To be confirmed

These two workshops only apply to those who have already passed the bronze syllabus. So basically only some of the sec twos will be able to go for it. You can only choose one of the courses. We really encourage you to go for the course because you get to learn everything and get accreditated, then you can get your Silver badge!
Please do sign up for it if you can. Sec twos, i want the I/C to send the the names on who is interested to sign up for either courses by Saturday 20th June, 6pm. I do not want the I/C to be late.

SEC TWOs!

Those who are involved in the OA Bronze tuition, do you remember that you are supposed to email usSOMETHING? We gave you all the deadline till Thursday 6pm, which should be more than enough for you to get the informations we need. We didn't appoint an I/C because we believed that you all are sec twos and you should be able to take initiative to collect information from your squadmates and set a good example for your juniors. But I have waited for 2 days and up till now there is still no email, no SMS, nothing from you!

If you need time extension, you could have asked. We would be more than willing to listen to your explaination. We know you have your own commitments, but we are just asking for a little cooperation from you so that we can plan the tution to better suit your strengths and weakness so that you can benefit better from it.

We were glad that you have shown great attitude towards OA during the briefing and we do not wish to change our views about it. I'm giving a final time extention for this and it would be till tomorrow, 14 June 2009, 6pm. If by then, there is still no response from your squad, we will be considering of cancelling the OA tuition. We will take it as you do not want the extra lesson.

The last mini first aid session before activity on 11th you guys did arm sling, elevation sling and eye bandage! so i hope you guys wont forget abt it again ok! since most of you were either unsure of/forget how to do already, make sure you have lots of practices at home! you can practice on your family members or read up on the bandaging methods i have send you guys and try and recall how to tie it! REMEMBER! EVERYONE HAVE TO MAKE AN EFFORT TO PRACTICES YOUR BANDAGINGS. you cant always depend on your FA i/cs and squadmates to guild you along! IM SURE ALL OF YOU WILL BE ABLE TO TIE PERFECT BANDAGING IF YOU MAKE AN EFFORT TO PRACTICES! Sec 2s, YOU CAN DO IT!

ok, so the upcoming activity on the 18th, we will be doing scalp bandage, jaw badage and elbow bandage! as for neck bandage and palm bandage, we wont have time to practice them. so those who dont know how to do it, make an effort to come earlier to either ask your squadmates to demostrate to you how to tie or you can ask me to demo for you as well!

last but not least! continue to revise on your FA manuals! cause we might just give you a surprise test anytime when there is FA lesson! if you make a effort to read up your manuals, im sure you guys would be able to score well! dont wait till last time to squeeze every single details in your head! studying for sfa is just like studying for your exams! if you want to pass it, you got to work hard for it! try your best and your efforts will lead you to success!

OA BRONZE TUITION! (:
COMMENCE: AFTER SCHOOL REOPENS
DURATION: 1 HOUR
ONCE PER WEEK, EVERY TUESDAY/ FRIDAY
TUESDAY: 1400h - 1500h (Tentatively)
FRIDAY:1430h - 1530h(Tentatively)

Also, these are the things we need from you all by this Thursday, 11 June, 1800h.

Names of people who is going for each respective day. (Meaning: One list for people who's going on Tuesday, another one for Friday)
One permanent I/C for each day
The part of OA BRONZE which you are not confident of (Individually)

We did not put anyone in charge of this, hence we expect someone to take the initiative to collect the information from your squadmates.

We will post up another email at a later date for the confirmation of the details of the tuition itself.

PS: We are really glad that you are willing to stay back after school to practice and revise for your OA BRONZE accreditation. We know that it is going to be quite hard for you all but with consistent effort put in, we believe that you all would definately be able to pass your OA BRONZE accredation! All you all need is morePRACTICE and CONFIDENCE! Which is the ultimate objective of this tuition. I'm sure you want to pass the accreds with fly colours right? Hence do not hesistate to approach us if you have any difficulties or doubts. All you have to do is just ASK. (:

To All Cadets,We will be purchasing the unit bottle soon. The price of the unit bottle is tentatively $9.00. The I/Cs of each squad please collect the names of those who want to purchase the bottle and email me the list of names by tomorrow, 10 June, 1700h. Do help your I/Cs by taking the initiative to inform them about this and help them to ask around. Don't just rely on the I/C to do everything for you, you all should work as a squad.

Sec Ones, do take note that everyone of you must have the unit bottle so as to standize as a unit. Hence unless you have the exact same bottle at home, we would encourage you to take this opportunity to buy as a unit. Otherwise you would have to purchase the bottle from outside yourself.

i have upload for you the quiz question as well as the bandaging methods that is compulsory for everyone to know at the tip of your fingers! as for the palm, scalp, eye, and neck bandage, your FA i/cs will go through with your this coming thursday! pls remember to read up on chapter 5, 9, 10 of your first aid manual as well for the quiz this coming thursday! and the 3 bandaging methods you have learn on monday will be put to test too!

ALSO, pls remember to constantly revise on the bandaging methods that you have learn on monday! arm sling, elevation sling and jaw bandage! and not to forget the 2 chapters you have read up on! and read your FA manual FOR AT LEAST HALF AN HOUR everyday!!

pls TRY your VERY best to teach those squadmates that didnt come for activity last monday.

Generally, next week, we are going to have promotion parade.

On Monday, we'll be having promotion parade practice.

Sec 1s, as you are not involved in promotion parade,
you will be using activity time to discuss and research on Total Defence bronze.
You can use your tablet to search for relevant information.
There are tasks for you to complete and it'll be assessed some time later.
The Total Defence document attached consist of some information and the tasks.
You will be brief about this on Monday.

On Thursday, there'll be CCA photo taking and then Promotion Parade.
Sec 3s and 2s will be wearing full uniform throughout.
Sec 1s, you will wear your mufti. Mufti will be given to you all on Monday.

After CCA photo taking, we will continue with promotion parade.
Sec 1s, you will be dismissed once CCA photo taking is over.
However, we would encourage you to stay back to continue discussion on your Total Defence tasks.

*Sec 2s and 3s, we want your uniform to be up to standard otherwise, there'll be consequences.
If any of you fail to attend activity on Monday and Thursday (Promo Parade) without a valid reason,
you will not be promoted.

Hi, squadmates, this is an e-mail from the ma'ams(: :

Sec 2s,
We're utterly disappointed with your performance during the very last Evacuation Bronze Accreditations that you took on 30 March 2009.
It was very hard to organise an accred for you that Bertha ma'am could make it and on 30 March, may we ask, how many of you actually turned up?
A pathetic 8!
Out of this pathetic number of cadets, only 3 passed!
So what is this kind of performance, sec 2s? Did you even revise on your theory, some of you can still fail the theory paper! For your practical, it was as bad. We know that we didn't had much activities with you, so you didn't really have much practices. But still, if you know that you lack practise, aren't you suppose to organise practices on your own and you could always inform us about the practice, so that we could go down and help if we are free. Get it into your heads, sec 2s, this is not our accreds, IT'S YOURS! If you don't put in effort at all, then who is going to? Don't always expect your NCOs to be the ones doing everything for you. This is already the second time that we held an evacuation bronze accreds and altogether, for both times, only 5 passed!We really don't know what to say anymore.
You better reflect on your performance...
The 3 cadets that passed this time round are Alison, Giok Ting and Shu Xian.
Those that passed, congrats but still, don't be too happy as your results are all only borderlined passes.
